๐Hello! Here is Bonian.
๐ Starting in Fall 2026, I will pursue my Ph.D. in Computing at Boise State University under the supervision of Prof. Yu Zhang. Previously, I was a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the NJIT (2025-2026). I received my B.S. in Statistics from Hangzhou Dianzi University in 2025.
๐จโ๐ป My research focuses on computer vision, continual learning, and embodied AI. I am also broadly interested in trustworthy machine learning, including model calibration and uncertainty quantification. Beyond these areas, I remain particularly interested in neural representation methods for spatial transcriptomics.
Previously, I worked with Prof. Gongbo Liang at Texas A&M University-San Antonio on medical image analysis and neural network calibration, resulting in publications at EMBC, IEEE Big Data, and ACMSE.
At NJIT, I worked with Prof. Zhi Wei on spatial transcriptomics; our work was accepted to MICCAI 2026.

- Sep 2026: Our paper, โRethinking Learned Occupancy in Autonomous Active Mapping with Observation-Gated Filtering,โ was presented as an oral at the IEEE/RSJ IROS 2026 Workshop on Space Exploration and Sustained Operations Beyond Earth and received the Best Paper Runner-Up Award!
